My Black Friday 2012 haul consisted mostly of online shopping from American Eagle, Sephora, and Lululemon Athletica. I honestly thought I’d already post up this haul but after putting up my boxing day haul, I realized I didn’t! I’ll try to mix the posts up a little in the next couple of weeks!
Despite being one of the most avid shopper among my family and friends, this is actually the first time that I have ever partaken in the Black Friday madness. Usually, I am content to just sit back and wait out the rush to check out what’s left, but following different deal sites and seeing previews of the Black Friday deals, I could not resist but actually join in!
What’s best about this year is that Canada is actually partaking in the sales! It’s not just the typical 15-20% off discount, but legitimate, get-out-of-bed-worthy deals! I was at my university during the time, and fortunately, we were away from the big city of Toronto! We aren’t small enough though to ignore the sales (Can you guess which Canadian university I go to?) so it was still worth getting out of bed early. My friend and I chose to go to the nearest mall primarily because it had all the stores we wanted to visit, and secondly, we were able to put our online orders through (While studying derivatives!!)
Despite my initial fear that the mall would be insanely packed, and that we would have to wait in line, it turned out better than both of us expected. The bus to the mall was packed (and the driver thought we were nursing students going to work since we left at 6AM), and there was an initial wait for the doors to be opened. By around 7AM, the mall looks as it does on a Friday afternoon, no more packed than a usual busy day.
We got in through the Bay entrance instead of the normal entrance because she wanted to pick up some Olympic gears as gifts. We were given a $25 off $100 gift card which came in very handy! I ended up giving mine to my Dad since I think he’d be able to use it better. I was really debating whether or not to use it, particularly because The Bay had a section of fine watches on sale (Michael Kors, Coach, Lacoste) – they were marked down to roughly $200, and then there’s an added 25% off. I could use the gift card for an added $25 off, which would bring my total close to $125+tax. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be because none of the styles suited me.
I noticed tons of people walking around with a Lululemon bag, and I had to see what it was all about! Turns out there were 3-4 racks of workout gears on sale! They were mostly pants, or shorts, but there were a couple of workout bras and tanks. They were on sale for roughly 50% off, and these are the ones I picked out. I think this is the most items I’ve gotten from Lululemon in one shopping trip. My total came to around $100 for all three items.
The only other store I went to check out was American Eagle. As you guys know, I love their jeans, and their sale was 40% off the entire store! I chose to pick up the 2 white denims, one in the slimboot style, and the other was the skinny because they are such a basic and necessary piece for any girl’s closet. I also bought a workout shortie from Aerie! The initial prices for the jeans was $50 each, and with 40% off, the total came to $35 including tax!
My Sephora order consisted only of the Black Friday specials. There were three items that I knew I wanted, but one of them, the Philosophy cleanser, wasn’t available in Canada = I ended up purchasing 2 of the Josie Maran Bear Naked Wipes Duo and the LORAC Behind The Scenes Eye Primer/Eye Shadow Duo, with my total ending up at $48. I also picked up the makeup bag sample with the code LittleLux. With shipping and taxes, my total was $60.
I know I’m a tad behind with putting up my Black Friday haul! What did you guys pick up?! I love reading haul posts so if you have yours to share, please do!
